One oven, one temperature at a time, and everything should be hot at once. Enter when you want to eat and what goes in the oven. The planner works backward from dinner, puts dishes at the same temperature together, uses the turkey's rest for the sides, and tells you when two dishes need the oven at different temperatures. Pick a menu to start, then change the time and dishes under "Your dinner".
Every dish starts from the latest moment it can come out: serving time minus its rest. The planner tries a few placement orders and keeps the one with the fewest problems.
Dishes at the same temperature share an oven, up to the number you set. A dish marked "fills the oven", like a turkey, has the oven to itself.
Preheating, or moving an oven to another temperature, counts as 15 minutes. The checklist shows it as its own step.
When the turkey comes out to rest, the oven is free. The planner uses that window for the sides, which is why a turkey often comes out 45–60 minutes before dinner in a one-oven plan.
When a dish has to come out earlier than it can wait, the plan shows a warning with the reason.
The stovetop is assumed to have room for every stovetop dish at once.
Cook times are yours. The menus use example recipe times, and the turkey uses the upper end of the USDA roasting timetable. Check the turkey with a food thermometer: USDA says 165 °F in the thickest part of the breast and the innermost part of the thigh and wing.
